Okay John. You have been injured in a motor vehicle related accident. In Quebec, we drivers pay a lot of money to the SAAQ (Societe d’Assurance Automobile du Quebec) each year. Contact them. Her private insurance might try to get out of paying, but the SAAQ will take up this case. Working or not working, you have the right for compensation for injuries incurred. I don’t know if you speak French or not (it will go faster in French, but English will work). Look up the address for the SAAQ (it will be under the blue pages in the phone book). Go there. Take a number. Wait. Bring the police reports (hope you have them). You will be taken care of. Good luck.

car insurance in montreal quebec and Help, I got into a car accident with a porsche cayenne?

car insurance in montreal quebec:

Question by agold_12: Help, I got into a car accident with a porsche cayenne?
I am 21 years old and last nite I was driving in my dads cayenne and when all of a sudden i slipped on a piece of ice, slammed on the break and the car slid right into a mazda 3 hatchback, wasn’t going that fast or anything.
The porches damage was substantial, damaged the bumper and broke one of the lights, the mazda 3 however was severely damaged, broken tail lights, broke back glass and major dent in trunk.
I live in Montreal, quebec, canada where we have no fault insurance, not quite sure what that is perhaps you could explain that to me. Can they sue me, the accident was my fault, no doubt about that. The deductable on my dads car is 3000 dollars, anything over our insurance company, allstate pays, what do you think the deductable is on the mazda, I estimate around 500 dollars.
It was my first car accident, i was horrified, i’m so nervous, what happens next?
Has anyone else ever gotten into a big accent, please help me?
the other guy has insurance 2, it was a kid driving his dad dealership car.

You turn it in to your insurance company, who will contact the other insurance company and make arrangements to pay them for the damage you caused by not having your car under control. And someone will be paying the first $ 3,000 of course, you or dad.

car insurance in montreal quebec and Restoring an accidented vehicle?

car insurance in montreal quebec:

Question by The Smart Guy: Restoring an accidented vehicle?
I had an accident with my Jeep tj, it rolled over, the underside is perfect, and the only real damage was to the windshield, and doors, the rest is still fine, i took off the windshield frame/ windshield and doors, and am wanting to purchase replacements.

We declared the vehicle as a total loss, so now it is illegal to drive on the roads for now. The insurance payed the value, minus the scrap value of the vehicle witch was 20% when i purchased the ‘Wrecked” vehicle

Once restored it must undergo an inspection before it can be re plated. What are some key things to look for / fix before i get the inspection done? Do they care about minor body work issues ? What things do they look for that would make them deny the car to be road worthy?

My location is in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

But i assume that car inspections would be similar if not the same criteria for passing or failing all across north America, except perhaps for a few municipal laws,

minor body work issues are fine…….but to get most accurate list of what all needs to b done contact the guy at the DMV that inspects salvaged cars….or call DMV and ask and they will tell u which garage they use…….get list of what all he checks and follow checklist…

um as for what has to b done…fix windshield mounts and replace it……doors may not have to b replaced since it’s usually legal to not have doors on a jeep……..so get it inspected without the doors then if u want them add them later……that way u don’t get any grief about them….or the hinges and such…

A Look at car insurance montreal quebec in Would you move back to Montreal from Calgary?

car insurance montreal quebec:

Question by sharon c: Would you move back to Montreal from Calgary?
I find this city really trashy, it’s really along ways to drive anywhere. Cost of living is double, insurance for my car is about 10 times that of Quebec, the people are rude and there are a lot of problems and it seems quite dangerous. Kinda “skiddy”, would you move out of here? I don’t know if I made the wrong decision to come.

I hate Calgary, but I have been here for two months, have I given it enough thought? There are good wages here but all the money you make goes to crap.

Calgary is not so bad. I must say I disagree with most of what you’ve described. I feel perfectly safe in this city and I don’t think it’s “skiddy”. There are a few crap neighbourhoods but that is true of anywhere. Where I live it’s really beautiful and people are (usually) nice. You’ve only been here for two months so don’t completely write it off. It’s tough to move and adjust to a new place but if you keep an open mind I’m sure you’ll find something to like about it. Plus the summer is not humid like it is in Montreal. Of course, I’m bias because I grew up here.

I hope things get better for you soon. Remember someone out there in Calgary wishes you well. Good Luck :)

car insurance in montreal quebec and For insurance cost repairs and parts, which is better , the Honda Fit , Subaru Legacy Wagon or Toyota Matrix ?

car insurance in montreal quebec:

Question by Gaura: For insurance cost repairs and parts, which is better , the Honda Fit , Subaru Legacy Wagon or Toyota Matrix ?
Im looking for a fuel efficient vehicle to drive one hour into Montreal. I live in the rural area of Quebec known as Rawdon, which is a little mountainous, and the weather can change from slush to ice to rain for periods of time in the winter. Im a musician and cook that needs an economical hatchback to carry my equipment around. A used car salesman told me that the Honda Fit will be less safe to drive in the winter on Quebec roads than the Subaru Legacy wagon will be. Will it make that much difference ? Is there more chance of getting killed in the Honda Fit on dangerous roads ? Im not a fast driver anymore, and don’t need any more speeding tickets. Some people might say that the Subaru is a superior car ( 2006 Legacy ) but I just spoke to a friend of mine who used to own a Subaru and she said she was paying a lot of money for parts when she needed to do repairs, and to stay away from them. Are Subaru parts much more expensive than Honda, and please tell me why the Subaru wagon is a better choice, if it is. The engine on the Subaru Legacy is almost double the size, I think 2.5 L as opposed to the Fit 1.5, although both are 4 cylinder., and both are selling for around $ 10,000.

I havent looked enough into the Toyota Matrix. They seem to fall somewhere between the Honda Fit and he Subaru Legacy. I think the Fit would probably give the best gas mileage, the Matrix the next best and the Subaru the least. But again, which cost the most to repair ?

I live in the country and my life has not been functional without a vehicle the last few weeks since my Dodge Caravan died, so I need to make a decision as soon as possible.

Answer by Steven G
if the subaru is all wheel drive get it for where you live both the Fit and Matrix are front wheel drive. the Fit will be cheaper insurance and repair wise its a honda just change the oil it will last you 250k miles easy and it has been a top buy in car and driver mag every year it has been out. subarus aren’t as reliable and the wrxs are known as death traps. put snow tires on the Fit you should be ok
