Question by ang7371: any bad experience with ameriprise auto insurance claims?
I was thinking to switch from State Farm because of the price , but I found there are some people on the internet said that Ameriprise did not pay their auto insurance claims.
anyone had that same problem?

In most states Ameriprise sells insurance under the names IDS or American Express. In Missouri and New York, two of the states I am familiar with, they are one of the top rated companies with very few complaints.

The problem for discounts, however, is quality. Many ask is, “Is this cheap auto insurance worth buying? What kind of coverage do I have to sacrifice for a cheaper premium?” What is a small bi-yearly or yearly or monthly bill can become astonishingly high if you cheat on your deductible coverage or coverage amount. Question by Pauley _: Does anyone know anything about “Ameriprise Auto & Home Insurance” company?
I’m considering switching companies from Mercury to Ameriprise because of lower premiums, but I’ve read some not so good things about the company (like they take a loooong time to process a claim). I looked on Consumer Reports, because I feel they have reliable reviews, but I need a subscription, which I do not have.

So any information will be helpful, including a website that perhaps does reviews of auto insurance companies.

I dunno about any website that does reviews but I have Ameriprise auto insurance and have had a couple of claims and they did a good job of handling them. Well, they did exactly what they are supposed to do anyways. I even wanted to have some bodywork done at a shop not in their network and didnt have any problems at all. I cant really say they are any better or worse than other insurance companies. The only company I’ve heard a lot of good reviews of is State Farm but theres a reason for that, you get what you pay for.

I thought of renewing my auto insurance
My existing insurance – Progressive came with 680$
for my coverage i had.
I had a one at fault accident last year ,My claim for the accident is only 150$ last year
Geico came with 620$
If i remove the accident it comes with 350$ in quote.
Why there is such big difference in quote.
Costco Ameriprise came up with 435$
Do you think Costco Amerisprise is better ?

The difference in quote is because by having had an accident you are now a higher risk driver.
Try inputting 30 years no claims just for a laugh and see. Also did you know that if you get just liability insurance it’ll come cheaper? That’s what I like best, then I rather RAISE my liability to $ 300.000 it only adds $ 50 but I feel safer that way..

Question by spam: Has anyone tried the Ameriprise Auto insurance? How do you rate their service compared to other insurance co?
They have a tie-up with Costco and offers a very good rate compared to AAA, Farmers, etc. I signed up with esurance who has a excellent rate but after 6 months, they are raising the premium by more than 30%. A feedback or review on Ameriprise will aid me in decision making. Thanks!
